China's fourth largest airline, Hainan Airlines Co Ltd, has launched a new nonstop international service linking Shanghai and Boston, U.S., on June 20, 2015.

The new route brings the total number of domestic airline providing services to North America from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to three.

The route's inaugural flight - flight HU7961 - takes off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 12:10 pm, and arrives in Boston around 1:17 pm local time.

The non-stop Shanghai-Boston service will fly three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

The outbound flight is scheduled to take off from Pudong airport at 11:55 pm and arrive in Boston at 2:35 pm. The inbound flight (HU7962) will leave Boston at 4:35 pm and arrive in Beijing at 7:45 pm local time the next day.

Since it launched its first U.S. route from Beijing-Seattle in 2008, Hainan Airlines has accelerated its expansion in North America by offering several new services and increasing the number of flights. The launch of the new route will strengthen its flight network in North America and offer more convenient travel options to passengers, according to the airline.

The airline also launched a five-day-weekly Shanghai-Seattle service on June 22 with an Airbus 330.
