Shearwater GeoServices said it has won a contract to conduct a 3D seismic survey of an energy block offshore Vietnam on behalf of operator South Korea's SK Innovation.
The survey will cover an area of 900 square kilometres in block 16-2 in Cuu Long Basin, it said in a statement on Thursday.
"This will be Shearwater's first seismic survey in Vietnam and our first project for our new client SK Innovation," said Irene Waage Basili, Shearwater GeoServices chief executive officer.
Shearwater has deployed the vessel SW Duchess for the survey, the company said.
