Skanska to build Statoil’s new office in Bergen, Norway, for about SEK 1.5 billion
Skanska has received the assignment to construct Statoil’s new office in Bergen, Norway. The contract totals NOK 1.3 billion, about SEK 1.5 billion, which will be included in order bookings for the third quarter.

The project comprises 55,000 square meters of new office space in Sandsli, Bergen, dimensioned for 1,100 workplaces. The office building will also house technical rooms, parking facilities and goods arrival/storage.

“The project for Statoil in Sandsli is one of the largest individual construction contracts we have ever received. We have put one of our best teams in charge of the project and they are highly motivated to do their utmost. I would like to thank Statoil for its confidence and I’m sure that the project will be a success for all involved parties,” says Petter Eiken, President of Skanska Norway.

Skanska will be implementing the project in accordance with Skanska’s Green Workplace concept. The objective is to reduce energy consumption for lighting and heating in the construction phase. In addition, environmental demands will be placed on vehicles and chemical products.

Construction work will commence in July and is estimated to continue until January 2014. At most, about 300 people will be involved in the project.

Skanska Norway focuses on construction and civil engineering operations. The unit has approximately 4,200 employees. In 2010, Skanska Norway reported revenue of about SEK 11 billion. In Norway, Skanska is also active in the development of residential, commercial properties and public private partnerships (PPP) projects.
