Tunisair Express, a subsidiary of the national carrier, will open from July 4, 2021, a new service from Tunis-Carthage to Rome-Fiumicino as part of the extension of its international network, the company announced on Tuesday.

Two frequencies per week will be provided initially on Sundays and Mondays, before moving to a third frequency on Tuesdays from August in complementarity with the flights of the Tunisair company, it specifies.

The opening of this summer route by Tunisair Express aims at offering additional air capacities to allow Tunisians living abroad to spend their holidays in Tunisia.

This flight is also open to individual tourists and Italian tour operators wishing to contract block seats for their customers, the carrier adds.

From Tunis, the Rome destination will offer a complementary alternative to Tunisians wishing to travel to the Italian capital on an individual basis or within the framework of stays organised by travel agencies.

This new international route is added to the network of Tunisair Express which currently serves Malta, Palermo, Naples from Tunis and, recently, Tripoli in Libya from Sfax.
