Energy company Southern Co. on Monday said Andrew W. Evans, its executive vice president and chief financial officer, plans to retire from those roles, effective Sept. 1.

He will be succeeded by Daniel S. Tucker, the EVP, CFO and treasurer of Georgia Power, the company said. Mr. Tucker joined Southern Company in 1998.

Mr. Evans was named EVP and CFO in June 2018, Southern Co. said. He will remain in an adviser role with the company until Dec. 31, and will also join the board of Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Co.
