Nileworks Inc. announced that it has received ¥1,600,000,000 in a round of funding on March 14, 2019. The transaction included participation from existing investors Sumitomo Corporation (TSE:8053), Sumitomo Chemical Company, Limited (TSE:4005), Kumiai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE:4996), INCJ, Ltd., and new investors Mirai Creation Fund II; a fund managed by SPARX Group Co., Ltd (JASDAQ:8739) and DroneFund 2. The transaction has carried through a third party allotment. The company raised the funding at a post-money valuation of ¥2,400,000,000.
SPARX Group Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based holding company mainly engaged in the asset management business. The Company is engaged in the asset management business for clients, including corporate pension annuities, government entities, private and trust banks and public pension funds; the provision of investment advisory services; the operation of mutual fund business, which includes the provision of various mutual funds to financial institutions and individual investors directly or through brokerage houses, banks and other intermediaries in Japan, Europe and the United States, as well as the securities business, including the provision of advisory services for investors.
