Storskogen Denmark acquires Fremco

Storskogen has entered into an agreement to acquire 84 percent of the shares in Fremco A/S, a company specialising in the development and production of fibre blowing machines. Fremco has a strong foothold in the European market and has ambitions to grow in other parts of the world. The acquisition is expected to be finalised in the beginning of January 2022.

Fremco is a Danish technology company founded in 1945. The company develops, manufactures and markets fibre blowing machines and complementary products used in the infrastructure construction industry for blowing fibre optic cables into telecommunication ducts and micro ducts underground. Fremco is located in Frederikshavn in the northern part of Denmark. In 2020 the company reported an EBIT of DKK 19.4m and currently employs approximately 20 people. Since the foundation, Fremco has accrued high specialisation and knowledge within fibre blowing techniques. Its products are developed in close collaboration with customers, duct manufacturers and cable manufacturers in order to offer the best and most user-friendly fibre blowing solutions covering various dimensions of fibre, cables and ducts.

The company is led by the two co-owners Kim Carlsen, CEO of Fremco, and Morten Ringkjøbing, Sales Director at Fremco. Both Kim and Morten, together with two other employees, will continue to hold a minority stake in Fremco going forward.

Fremco is the second company acquired by Storskogen in Denmark in addition to Danmatic which was acquired in March 2021. Jan Ebbesen, Managing Director of Storskogen Denmark, will support the management team of Fremco in its continued growth journey.
