TOKYO, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group said on Monday that the company's group CEO Jun Ohta had died on Nov. 25 at age of 65.

SMFG plans to appoint a successor in the near future and make an announcement as soon as a decision is made, the company said in a statement.

Until the new appointment, deputy president and executive officer Toru Nakashima will perform CEO duties.
