PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) _ Teladoc Inc. (TDOC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $394 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Purchase, New York-based company said it had a loss of $3.07. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 27 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 25 cents per share.

The telehealth services provider posted revenue of $383.3 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $380.4 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $485.1 million, or $5.36 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.09 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Teladoc said it expects revenue in the range of $445 million to $455 million.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.95 billion to $2 billion.

Teladoc shares have risen 27% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $254.53, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
