(Alliance News) - Unipol Spa announced Saturday that it has purchased, from Elon Musk's SpaceX company, Starlink terminals that will allow relief workers, essential and strategic services and the population to have access to the Internet.

SpaceX is currently orienting its satellites, focusing them to prioritize the Emilia region, to provide greater coverage to the people affected in recent days by the flooding.

"In the face of such tragedies, I think it is a duty for each of us to bring our own contribution," said Carlo Cimbri, chairman of Unipol Group. "Unipol, in addition to supporting its policyholders, is working to actively support the affected communities.

"SpaceX, Starlink, and Tesla," said Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, "are pleased to be able to be useful in any way to help Italy and its people affected by the floods.

In the coming hours from the United States and Germany, technologically advanced Starlink terminals, capable of mobile operation in emergency situations, will arrive in Italy and will be distributed to the affected localities according to the instructions of the Civil Defense and the Emilia Romagna Region.

Unipol trades in the green by 0.4 percent at EUR4.81 per share.
