Coca-Cola Co. on Thursday increased its quarterly dividend and named a new treasurer.

The beverage company raised its first-quarter dividend to 42 cents a share from 41 cents a share, representing a 2.4% increase. The annual dividend will be $1.68 a share.

The new dividend will be payable on April 1 to shareholders of record as of March 15.

Separately, the company named Stacy Apter as its next treasurer and vice president, effective March 1. She will be the first female treasurer of the company, Coca-Cola said.

She succeeds Christopher Nolan, who will step down from the treasurer role to retire. He has served more than 11 years as the company's treasurer, the company said.

Ms. Apter was most recently the chief of staff for Coca-Cola's Chairman and Chief Executive James Quincey, where she has helped the company with its reorganization efforts. She joined the company in 2005 and has held various treasury and global benefits roles.
