The Saudi National Bank has announced the appointment of Dr. Saleh Bin Ibrahim Al-Furaih as the CEO of the Digital Ventures and Payments Company, aiming to establish a new entity that seeks to enhance digital banking services and payments within the bank. Dr. Al-Furaih brings with him over 25 years of extensive experience of the financial sector and financial technology. Prior to his appointment, he held the position of CEO of Financial Technology at Sonomi Group, served as the head of Noon.com in Saudi Arabia, one of the e-commerce platforms in the region, and held the position of General Manager of Retail Banking at Bank Albilad, as well as several leadership positions at Al Rajhi Bank.

Dr. Al-Furaih holds a Bachelor's degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, a Master's from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. from Newcastle University, all in the field of Computer Science. Dr. Al-Furaih emphasized the importance of converting strategic objectives into tangible results, highlighting the progress made by the Saudi National Bank in digital technology as part of its strategy to effectively contribute to the goals of the Financial Sector Development Program, which is a fundamental pillar of Vision 2030 that aims at enhancing the digital economy and supporting technological innovation in financial services. He concluded by stressing the need to keep pace with digital transformation and to meet the evolving needs of customers to ensure a distinctive and enriched customer experience.
