New member of the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG

At the application of the company, the Duisburg register court has appointed Dr. Verena Volpert (60) member of the Supervisory Board effective today. She succeeds Dr. Ingrid Hengster, who has stepped down for professional reasons and left the Supervisory Board on September 30, 2020.

Prof. Dr. Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG: 'In Verena Volpert we have been able to win a proven and recognized financial expert for the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp. Her knowledge and experience in the area of corporate finance are an extremely good fit for our board. Dr. Verena Volpert was Head of Finance at E.ON SE in Essen from 2006 to June 2020 and as a top executive was responsible for the group's entire finance area. A doctor of business administration and qualified tax accountant, she previously worked for 17 years in various leadership roles in the financial department of Bertelsmann AG, the last seven years of which as Head of Finance. Volpert is a member of the supervisory bodies of the Turkish companies Enerjisa Enerji A.Ş. and Enerjisa Üretim Santralleri A.Ş. She is also a member of the supervisory board of an automotive supplier company, where she chairs the audit committee.
