Notice :

Regarding the revised channel support including 4-digit channel for VHF Radio Telephone

Thank you very much for using our products.

Due to the channel revision, VHF radiotelephone need to support 4-digit channel display. Some of our products do not support 4-digit channel display, so replacement is required. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Affected products VHF Radio Telephone ： RSS201A、RU224A、TRV-1000Implementation deadline ： until the first wireless inspection after January 1, 2024

Description

・Amendment (WRC-12)

The World Radio communication Conference 2012 (WRC-12) made changes to frequencies and channel arrangements for appendices 17(HF) and 18（VHF） of the Radio Regulations (RR) on 1 January 2013. The IMO performance standards require, the channel of the VHF radio should comply to RR appendix 18. Therefore, there was concern that radios that do not support the new channel may fail the radio survey because of the channel incompatibility.

But, as a matter of fact, It is not realistic to comply all VHF Radio in a short period of time．So, IMO issued MSC.1/Circ.1460 in order to avoid confusion in the field. According to the document, update should be done until the first radio survey after 1 January 2017. After that, the transition period was re-extended until 2024 (Rev. 2).

This time, Rev.3 was issued and in this document reconfirmed the Application start date is the first Radio survey after January 1, 2024.

Summary

・Appendix 18（VHF） channeling arrangements

Some of the newly added channel consists of 4 digits channel number.

The correspondence of our equipment

・We propose a retrofit of the system for the old model.

・VHF Radio Telephone (RSS201A , RU224A , TRV-1000)

Latest model (TRV-2000) already comply with new channeling arrangements.

Previous model (RSS201A、RU224A、TRV-1000) may need to replace if compliance with new channel arrangement is required in accordance with the decisions of the Administration.
