Tokyo, Japan-Tosoh Corporation has extended two agreements to supply power to two electric power companies. These agreements lessen the burden on regional power companies and make more efficient use of available power. One sees Tosoh furnish power from its Nanyo Complex, in Yamaguchi, to Chugoku Electric Power Company. That agreement, initially from July 1, 2012, until March 31, 2013, has been extended until March 31, 2014. The other, signed in September 2011, sees Tosoh group company Tohoku Tosoh Chemical Co., Ltd., in Yamagata, supply power from its Sakata factory to Tohoku Electric Power Company. It has been renewed for the peak periods July-September 2013 and December-February 2014.

The Nanyo Complex's coal-fired power plant has an output capacity of 829,100 kW. Under the power-sharing agreement, up to 55,000 kW of that capacity is furnished to the Chugoku Electric Power Company. The Sakata factory power plant, meanwhile, could supply a maximum of 20,000 kW to northern Japan's Tohoku Electric Power Company.

Tohoku Tosoh Chemical Co., Ltd.
