TranSwitch Corp. announced that the company's HDplay(TM) TXC-44146 transceiver has been designed into several Kramer Electronics video products, including video switches and distribution amplifiers. Production of Kramer Electronics' first new video product featuring HDplay is expected to commence by the end of the first quarter 2013.

HDMI and DisplayPort devices continue to gain prevalence in the market, driving manufacturers of connectivity devices, such as video switches and amplifiers, to adopt both standards. According to a report by InStat, the combined total number of devices shipped with HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI connectivity is forecasted to surpass 2 billion in 2015. TranSwitch's HDplay transceivers are the industry's only solution that offers both HDMI and DisplayPort functionality on a single integrated circuit.

With HDplay powering a video switch or distribution amplifier, end-users are able to conveniently connect a wide range of multimedia devices. HDplay also utilizes TranSwitch's patented AnyCable(TM) technology, enabling the user to confidently select long and inexpensive cables, while maintaining HDMI 1.4 performance.
