WINCHESTER, Va. (AP) _ Trex Co. (TREX) on Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $43.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Winchester, Virginia-based company said it had profit of 37 cents.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.

The maker of fencing and decking products posted revenue of $228.3 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $216 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $175.6 million, or $1.51 per share. Revenue was reported as $880.8 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, Trex said it expects revenue in the range of $235 million to $245 million.

Trex shares have increased 20% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $100.12, a rise of 87% in the last 12 months.
