Trinseo + ME - Combating the Epidemic with Heart-warming Enthusiasm "Trinseo + ME" is an exclusive series of interviews with our staff. Let's take a look at the story of Alex Wu. - Thursday, April 21, 2022

Alex is EH&S Specialist, Trinseo APAC. He is based in Trinseo's Zhangjiagang Site, responsible mainly for coordinating and supporting Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) affairs of all manufacturing sites and offices in the Asia-Pacific region.

Alex joined Trinseo in June 2019. Not long after starting with Trinseo came the Coronavirus epidemic. In August 2021, Alex's hometown of Yangzhou, China experienced a sudden outbreak. He had no choice but to work from home during the lockdown. Alex's day started in early mornings with voluntary work for the community's anti-epidemic activities: making arrangements for testing, securing food residents needed and buying medication for the elderly… He would work until 08:00 each day, and then he began to devote his time to his work at Trinseo. In the evening, he began to coordinate the distribution of food, daily necessities, medication, etc.; paying attention to the testing arrangements for the following day; communication on WeChat….. and the list went on.

It was not until more than a month later that the lockdown was lifted. When asked to comment on the month of hard work, Alex said, "I would be lying if I said I was not tired." But he was thrilled to be able to contribute and help during this crisis. He also thinks this is inseparable from his work at Trinseo.
