TTS Group has through its subsidiary TTS Port Equipment AB signed an agreement to supply seven translifters together with 90 cassettes for the PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya in Indonesia.

Situated on the eastern part of the Java island of Indonesia, PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya will be the first container terminal in Asia to use the cassette system. The terminal operators will use the cassettes and translifters to transport containers to and from their customs inspection area.

- This order demonstrates that the TTS cassette system can be a good solution for brown field terminals that need to boost their productivity, says CEO Johannes D. Neteland. TTS has designed the translifters in such a way that they fit the existing equipment used in the terminal, thus investment cost for changing the mode of operation is kept to a minimum.

The cassettes themselves are designed to safely support containers while being quickly transported, and containers can be stacked and carried on a single cassette in a variety of configurations. The translifters will be equipped with a lifting gooseneck so that it can be fitted to the standard road trucks that are used to move the containers within the terminal today.

The Surabaya terminal will be the third terminal in the world to utilize the TTS cassette system. They are joining a group of foresighted operators consisting of the APM Virginia Terminal in the USA and DP World's new London Gateway terminal in the UK.

Delivery is scheduled for November 2013.
