Uber Freight has partnered with Greenlane to accelerate the development and installation of the public charging infrastructure for heavy-duty electric vehicles.

The truck brokerage arm of Uber Technologies said Thursday that Greenlane will use insights from Uber Freight's logistics network in its own data analysis to determine which corridors are the candidates for early electric-truck charging station deployment.

Greenlane is a $650 million joint venture between Daimler Truck North America, NextEra Energy Resources and BlackRock aimed at building a nationwide charging network for commercial vehicles.

"Our national network of EV charging and hydrogen fueling stations together with our Uber Freight collaboration will make the electrification transition easier for shippers," said Greenlane Chief Executive Patrick Macdonald-King.
