BEN & JERRY's founders have said parent firm Unilever is in violation of its merger deal after its Israeli business was sold to licensees who could sell its ice cream in the West Bank.

The 2000 merger "gave authority over the social mission to the independent board of Ben & Jerry's," Ben & Jerry's co-founder Ben Cohen said on MSNBC.

Unilever said it retains a right to operational decisions.

Last year, Ben & Jerry's ended sales in Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, citing its brand ethos.
