United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) President and CEO Mario Longhi will be honoring the employees of U. S. Steel's Lone Star Tubular Operations with the presentation of the Chief Executive Officer's Safety Excellence Award. The award is presented annually to the U. S. Steel facility with the best safety record in the company. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. with a media tour of the facility with Longhi, followed by the presentation at 11:00 a.m..

Among those scheduled to participate in the ceremony are Mario Longhi, president and chief executive officer of United States Steel Corporation; David L. Britten, senior vice president - tubular operations; Texas state representatives Bryan Hughes and David Simpson; Brent Sansing, general manager of Lone Star Tubular Operations; and employees of U. S. Steel.
