In the context of COP15, which will address the Convention on Biological Diversity, VSPT Wine Group signed the Business for Nature coalition's Business Statement. The letter calls on governments to make assessment and disclosure of impact and dependencies on nature mandatory for companies by 2030.
The Business Statement emphasizes the importance of disclosure so that governments have the information they need to make changes, increase their responsibility and monitor biodiversity protection processes. Moreover, it promotes comparative progress evaluations relative to comparable peers in order to identify risks and opportunities.
VSPT is the first Chilean vineyard to sign this letter demanding clear targets to complement the measures to reduce negative impact, increase positive impact and drive collective business action within a conducive environment. This includes financing to ensure equitable and effective implementation in all countries
Led by Business for Nature, a conservation organization that urges governments to adopt more ambitious policies on nature and diversity, this initiative aligns with the VSPT commitment to continue sustainable growth while promoting positive change for the planet.
