Vinci SA said Thursday that revenue for the first quarter rose slightly on year and backed a previously given outlook for 2021.

The French construction-and-infrastructure company posted revenue of 10.18 billion euros ($12.25 billion) for the quarter up from EUR9.69 billion the previous year.

Revenue in France rose to EUR5.81 billion from EUR5.22 billion in the same period a year prior, while revenue outside of France was EUR4.37 billion compared with EUR4.5 billion the previous year, Vinci said.

The company backed the outlook it had given when it released its 2020 financial results, saying that it can't provide reliable earnings forecast for 2021 given uncertainties arising from the coronavirus pandemic. In any event, earnings won't recover to 2019 levels in 2021, it added.
