Stocks in Toronto were slightly lower in midmorning trading on Tuesday as losses in consumer durables, along with health technology and communication, out weighed advances in technology and materials stocks.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index was down 0.13% to 20555.23, and the blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 fell 0.23% to 1234.08.

Volt Lithium's stock fell 17% to 22 Canadian cents (17 cents) after the company said it's seeking to raise C$6 million through a marketed public offering of its units.


Other market movers:

Amerigo Resources shares were up 2.6% to C$1.56 after the company said its operations in Chile returned to full production following power outages caused by flooding.

IntelGenx shares fell 4.4% to C$0.22. The company has begun production for an 18-month clinical study that will investigate the use of its Montelukast VersaFilm for the treatment of Parkinson's disease as part of a research grant agreement in entered into with Sweden's Karolinska University Hospital.
