First and foremost, our sympathies go to all of those directly affected by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
28 March 2024
Baltimore is an important long-term location for Wallenius Wilhelmsen, and thankfully all of our vessel, terminal, and logistics staff working in the region are accounted for and confirmed as safe.
Our vessel M/V Carmen which had already completed cargo operations in the Port of Baltimore prior to the incident also remains safe and secure alongside in the port.
The Maryland Port Administration have suspended all vessel traffic into and out of the Port of Baltimore until further notice.
Consequently, we are currently working with various port authorities, partners, and stakeholders to assess potential alternative solutions to help minimize the effect this situation will have upon our customers and ongoing operations.
