Webuild S p A : Francesco Albieri named Chairman of Italian Association of Internal Auditors

MILAN, April 21, 2021 - Webuild's Internal Audit & Compliance Director Francesco Albieri has been named chairman of the board of the Associazione Italiana Internal Auditors (AIIA) (Italian Association of Internal Auditors) in recognition of his emphasis on teamwork, transparency and collaboration.

As the point of reference for the country in matters of internal auditing, corporate governance, compliance and risk management, the AIIA has more than 4,500 members representing 900 companies in sectors as varied as finance, insurance, manufacturing and services. It is the third largest association in Europe in terms of membership and the seventh globally. As chairman, Albieri aims to affirm the internal auditor's role as an advocate of corporate governance, as well as contribute to promoting international standards in Italy.

Albieri becoming chairman of the association acknowledges the last seven years he has dedicated to governance and internal auditing at Webuild, adopting international best practice to guarantee an efficient management of the Group's activities and ensuring that they have been in line with the aim of creating value for shareholders and stakeholders alike.

In recent years, the Group has grown from a family business into a multinational thanks to a series of complex acquisitions including that of Impregilo and Lane Industries Inc. In 2020, it took control of Astaldi, reinforcing Webuild's stature as a multinational that operates in more than 50 countries, each with its own cultural and legal norms which the Group makes every effort to respect.
