Wishbone Gold director elected as Lord Mayor of the City of London

(Alliance News) - Wishbone Gold PLC on Monday celebrated its non-executive director Michael Mainelli's appointment as the 695th Lord Mayor of the City of London.

The Australia-focused mining company said Mainelli will take a sabbatical from his position as a director of Wishbone during his year as Lord Mayor, which will begin next week.

Wishbone Chair says: "Michael's election as Lord Mayor is a wonderful further achievement to add to his two years as a Sheriff of London. We all wish him every success and are very proud of him. I know he will be a brilliant global ambassador for the UK financial and professional services industry."

Shares in Wishbone Gold were up 5.8% at 2.28 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.

Company Profile

Wishbone Gold Plc is a Gibraltar-based company, which is engaged in gold, silver and copper exploration. It has three exploration properties in Australia and three minor prospects. Two of these are located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and the third is in the Mingela-Charters Towers region in Queensland. The Companyâs projects include Red Setter, Cottesloe project, Anketell, Wishbone II, IV & VI and White Mountain. Its flagship project is Red Setter, located approximately 13 kilometers (km) southwest of Newcrestâs Telfer operations. Red Setter is a Havieron style gold prospect. Cottlesloe project, which is approximately 35 km southeast of Red Setter, has deposits visible at surface of silver and lead: metals which are essential for battery and electric car production. The Anketell Project consists of a single exploration license application, E45/ 6198, covering an area of over 10 square kilometers. White Mountain is located west-southwest of Townsville, Queensland.
