Yamaichi Electronics Co. Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the period, the company's net sales were JPY 15,156.54 million compared to JPY 17,376.095 million a year ago. Operating loss was JPY 917.57 million compared to JPY 302.04 million a year ago. Ordinary loss was JPY 838.6 million compared to JPY 619.07 million a year ago. Loss before income taxes was JPY 2,389.42 million compared to JPY 725.85 million a year ago. Net loss was JPY 2,468.19 million or JPY 105.99 per share compared to JPY 830.46 million or JPY 35.66 per share a year ago.
The company provided consolidated earnings guidance for the year ending March 31, 2013. For the period, the company expects net sales of JPY 20,000 million, operating loss of JPY 1,200 million, ordinary loss of JPY 960 million and net loss of JPY 2,580 million or JPY 110.79 per share.
YAMAICHI ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of integrated circuit (IC) sockets and structure components. The Test Solution segment is involved in the provision of burn-in sockets, test sockets, probe pins, probe cards, as well as semiconductor test-related services. The Connector Solution segment is involved in the provision of various connectors and IC sockets for mounting use. The Optical-related segment offers filter products for optical equipment and optical communications. The Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of liquid-crystal-related components, as well as the assembling of printed boards for hard disc drives(HDD) and printers.
