Zorlu Enerji acts sensitively for sustainability

Operating with the vision of becoming the energy company of the future, Zorlu Enerji's retail electricity sales company OEPSAŞ (Osmangazi Elektrik Perakende Satış AŞ) participated in the "DO! (Be Sensitive!) Project" Project to positively change the consumption habits of its employees.

In line with its Smart Life 2030 vision, Zorlu Enerji continues to make innovation and sustainability a business culture by combining these concepts with creativity. The company has participated in the "DO! (Be Sensitive!)" project with its offices in Afyonkarahisar, Bilecik, Eskişehir, Kütahya, and Uşak by cooperating with the Business Council for Sustainable Development (bcsd Turkey).

Zorlu Enerji started the "DO! (Be Sensitive!)" project in its Eskişehir office. With this integrated environmental management and internal communication Project, which focuses on governance, sustainable purchasing, energy management, water management, and waste management, Zorlu Enerji aims to succeed in a positive change in the consumption habits of the employees and saving resources by raising awareness in its work areas. The "DO! (Be Sensitive!)" project guides the institutions. It contributes to building sustainable consumption culture in institutions and transforming employees into responsible individuals regarding resource consumption and recycling.

Cihan Tunç Ertunç, Retail Director of Zorlu Enerji Osmangazi Electricity, stated that they maintained sustainability-oriented activities as one of Turkey's leading companies operating in renewable energy, and continued: "By following our sustainability perspective, we became the first company in our sector to digitize its services. We accelerated our business processes and increased customer satisfaction by deploying Digital Subscription Services within this scope. As a result, we have reached satisfying figures in our fight against the climate crisis by saving paper, water, and fuel. Thanks to our Digital Subscription project, launched three years ago, we prevented 16.64 tons of paper consumption in the first ten months of 2022, saved 444 thousand liters of water, and prevented approximately 21 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, we aim to expand the use of renewable energy resources in electricity generation and consumption by certifying all our offices with the Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee System. We also update our office applications with more environmentally friendly programs and reduce the environmental impact of our carbon and water footprint with simplified and feasible resource management. We gathered all these practices we have been conducting for our world's future under the roof of the 'DO! (Be Sensitive!) project, which we implemented in cooperation with the Business Council for Sustainable Development. In this way, we aim to turn our understanding of sustainability into business conduct for all our colleagues."
