Early life

He grew up in Burradoo in the Southern Highlands, New South Wales. He attended St Ignatius School.

Career

In 1964, he founded one of the first private psychiatric hospitals in Sydney. It evolved into Ramsay Health Care, a private hospital company of which he is Chairman of the Board. It now comprises 117 hospitals in Australia and Europe. In 1983, he bought a stake in the Prime Media Group, where he serves as Chairman of the Board. In 2009, he was appointed Chairman of Sydney FC. He also owns luxury real estate. He sits on the Board of Directors of Adstream and on the Advisory Board of the Australian Science Media Centre. He serves on the Board of the George Gregan Foundation.

Philanthropy

He is Chairman of Ramsay Youth Services, a charity for young people. He sits on the Board of the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation. Paul Eugene Brown (September 7, 1908 – August 5, 1991) was an American football coach in the All-America Football Conference and National Football League. Brown was the first coach of the Cleveland Browns, a team named after him, and later played a role in founding the Cincinnati Bengals. His teams won seven league championships in a professional coaching career spanning 25 seasons.

Brown began his coaching career at Severn School in 1931 before becoming the head football coach at Massillon Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio, where he grew up. His high school teams lost only 10 games in 11 seasons. He was then hired at Ohio State University and coached the school to its first national football championship in 1942. After World War II, he became head coach of the Browns, who won four AAFC championships before joining the NFL in 1950. Brown coached the Browns to three NFL championships – in 1950, 1954 and 1955 – but was fired in January 1963 amid a power struggle with team owner Art Modell. Brown in 1968 co-founded and was the first coach of the Bengals. He retired from coaching in 1975 but remained the Bengals' team president until his death in 1991. The Bengals named their home stadium Paul Brown Stadium in honor of Brown. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967.

Brown is credited with a number of American football innovations. He was the first coach to use game film to scout opponents, hire a full-time staff of assistants, and test players on their knowledge of a playbook. He invented the modern face mask, the taxi squad and the draw play. Varga is a past Board member of the Muhammad Ali Center and the Louisville Urban League. He now serves on the Executive Committee of Greater Louisville, Inc. and on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA of Louisville, and the Three Chimneys Farm, a thoroughbred race horse breeding farm in Midway, Kentucky.

Varga is married to Melissa Varga, and they have three children. They reside in Louisville.

Paul Steven Walsh (born 15 May 1955) is an English businessman. He was the chief executive of Diageo, the world's largest spirits group, for twelve years between 2000 and 2013.

Walsh was criticised in the press for what was seen as his excessive remuneration, but received admiration for his ability to build brands. He spent the majority of his career at Diageo and its precursor Grand Metropolitan. His most notable decision was the acquisition of the Seagram drinks company, which added Captain Morgan rum and Crown Royal Canadian whisky to Diageo's roster of brands.

Walsh's tenure in charge of Diageo closely mirrored his behaviour as head of the Pillsbury food business: selling off non-essential assets such as Burger King and aggressively marketing a select number of "core" brands. He was disciplined regarding prices paid for the acquisition of assets. Towards the end of his Diageo career, he increased the company's exposure to developing markets such as India and China.

In February 2014 Walsh became the non-executive chairman of Compass Group, the world's largest catering company. His role as an advisor to Diageo will end in September 2014.

Early life
Walsh was born in Middleton, and raised in the former mill town of Chadderton, Lancashire, in the North West of England. The only child of Arthur and Anne Walsh, his father was a pipe fitter who later ran a small thermal engineering company, and his mother was a housewife. His great grandfather emigrated from Ireland, hence he bears the common Irish surname of Walsh. Walsh gained his pilot license, but failed the medical examination to fly fighter jets due to colour blindness. He did not enjoy accounting, but reasoned that the skill would provide a good gateway into business.< He moved to London to work for International Computers Limited, and later the American Eaton Corporation, a manufacturer of industrial equipment, which he says he learnt a "can-do attitude".
