Health-Chem Corporation conducts its business primarily through its 90%-owned subsidiary, Transderm Laboratories Corporation. Transderm owns 98.5% of Hercon Laboratories Corporation, which develops and manufactures controlled release products for the pharmaceutical industry, at Transderm's Pennsylvania facility, to deliver a variety of drugs topically or transdermally. The Company has manufactured over-the-counter pharmaceutical and cosmetic products that are used to clean facial pores. These deep cleansing facial pore strips are designed to remove clogged dirt, oil and blackheads from the nose, chin, forehead and anywhere else on the face that needs deep cleaning. In addition to its nitroglycerin transdermal products, the Company is also developing transdermal products for hormone replacement therapies.
