STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Hexcel Corp. (HXL) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $73.2 million.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had profit of 86 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.

The maker of lightweight composite materials posted revenue of $564.3 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $306.6 million, or $3.57 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.36 billion.

Hexcel shares have climbed 0.5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $73.71, a rise of 7% in the last 12 months.
