For 45 years, Nexans and Chantiers de l'Atlantique have been collaborating for continuous performance improvement. Chantiers de l'Atlantique is one of the world's leaders in passenger vessels construction. With an order backlog that is already full for the next decade, it is a thriving company.

This close partnership enabled evolution of cabling depending on the client's needs. Furthermore, it allowed to improve logistics, which is the core business of Nexans Logistics and Solutions Centre in Nanterre. Nexans Nanterre has adapted perfectly to meet the specific needs of the shipyard, preparing cables so that it would be as easy as possible to install. Therefore, Nexans was able to be more and more integrated into the client's value chain.

Since 2016, Chantiers de l'Atlantique built one vessel per year - until 2018 when the company had to increase the speed to two vessels per year. A real industrial challenge that required the shipyard to improve their flows to secure deliveries. An ambitious target that Nexans Nanterre helped them achieve with success, answering to the demand in a very busy period while keeping up with the quality levels and delivery dates. Indeed, while the demand grew from 4,000 to 7,000 cuts per year in 2018, Chantiers de l'Atlantique didn't even feel any impact on their logistic flow.

'Our experience with Nexans has been a true success that comforts our partnership!' commented Géraldine Quilhac, Cable Management Manager for Chantiers de l'Atlantique.
