The new software tool was developed with a friendly interface and an easy to use step-by-step guide. Users who are specifying a standard hydraulic, pneumatic or mobile cylinder are guided through configuring their cylinder, and once finalized it is emailed directly to the Parker quoting team for review and fast turnaround response.
With previous cylinder specification worksheets customers would be required to fill out pages of questions. However, the new Parker cylinder quoting tool has eliminated this process by using set field options with standard features so customers only need to review and verify the information. Required fields are highlighted to easily guide customers through specification, and the process is further simplified with the ease of being able to attach a cylinder drawing. The software also offers an options section, providing customers flexibility in design to modify or customize their cylinder to their requirements.
'When designing this tool, we looked at user experience feedback and found that completing cylinder specification sheets it is a lengthy process which requires customers to fill out sheets of data, often answering questions that were not really needed,' said Nadine Powell, marketing manager, Cylinder Division.
