A meeting on the operation of a delayed coking unit (UZK) was held at TANECO with the participation of representatives of Russian oil companies, oil refineries, design engineering institutes and the equipment manufacturers for such installations.

It was no surprise that the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex in Nizhnekamsk chosen to host such a meeting. A delayed coking unit with a raw material feedstock capacity of 2 million tonnes per year was put into operation at TANECO in July 2016.

The start-up of UZK allowed JSC TANECO to stop yielding dark products with zero fuel oil production and becoming the most balanced oil refinery in Russia in terms of the aggregate capacity of both the primary and secondary refining. As a result of the stable UZK operation the depth of oil refining increased to 99%, the yield of light oil products went up as high as 87%.

Aidar Khismatullin, Acting Director General of JSC TANECO and Director of Oil Refinery, and Teimur Khalilov, Production Manager for Processing Heavy Residues, presented the experience of a three-year operation of the delayed coking unit. In particular, it was emphasized that the UZK built according to Russian technologies, using mainly domestic equipment had demonstrated high performance, efficiency, reliability and was not any inferior versus the foreign made analogues.

There were also representatives of JSC 'Institute of Oil Refining' and OOO 'Aliter-Aksi', who addressed the meeting. In general, a serious discussion took place at the plenary part and later at the production site with a detailed discussion of the problems, potential risks and future plans related to the development of delayed coking technology.

The guests highly appreciated the event organized. In particular, Yelena Chernysheva, professor at the Oil Refining Technology Department of the Gubkin University, pointed out that the meeting was very useful and productive. продуктивным.
