Greenidge Generation Holdings Inc.'s board of directors has named David Anderson as the company's next chief executive as CEO Jeffrey Kirt resigned.

Mr. Kirt and the company had a mutual agreement that he would resign from his position as CEO and director, effective as of the end of Friday, Greenidge said.

Greenidge is a vertically integrated cryptocurrency data center and power generation company.

Mr. Anderson will take the helm of Greenidge beginning Saturday after two years as president and CEO of Millar Western Forest Products. Prior to his role of CEO, he spent 14 years at Millar Western in roles such as operating chief and finance chief, the company said.
