Mr. Andrew Tilton is a Chief Asia Economist at Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC.
He is supervising the Goldman Sachs economic research product and forecasts across the region, and writing research on a number of economies with a particular focus on China and India.
Mr. Tilton relocated to Hong Kong in 2012 from the US economics team in New York which received awards from The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and Blue Chip Economic Indicators for forecast accuracy, and was voted the top economics group in multiple Institutional Investor surveys of fixed income investors.
In New York, he wrote frequently on current economic issues, shared responsibility for the team’s economic forecasts for the US, and also managed research and forecasting for the
Canadian economy.
He joined Goldman Sachs in 2003 and was named managing director in 2009 and partner in 2016.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tilton was a manager at McKinsey & Company and a research economist at the McKinsey Global Institute.
He also worked at William Kent International as a consultant to US firms in China, India and Japan, and served as senior advisor to the Office of International Affairs in the US Treasury.
He earned degrees in economics from Stanford University and the London School of Economics.
