The Company's principal activity is to develop, manufacture, market and distribute a hemoglobin-based blood substitute product. The Company's product, PolyHeme(R) blood substitute, provides an alternative to transfused blood for use in the treatment of acute blood loss. The company uses a proprietary process of separation, filtration, chemical modification purification and formulation to produce PolyHeme.
