Ms. Nelson joined Fluke Venture Partners in January 2001.
She represents FVP as a Board observer of Sur La Table, Inc. and Klir Technologies, Inc., and serves as Treasurer of the Boards of the Evergreen Venture Capital Association and Seraph Capital.
While pursuing her MBA, she worked as an analyst for Northport Private Equity.
She also worked with a Chicago-based business incubator and a start-up Internet bank.
Before attending graduate school, Kristin managed a national youth development initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
She also served at-risk youth and taught conflict resolution skills to prison inmates during a tour of service with Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA), the domestic equivalent of the Peace Corps.
Her passion for entrepreneurship was sparked by her active involvement from a very young age in two small family businesses.
Ms. Nelson is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management, where she received the Class of 2000 Dean's Distinguished Service Award and was recognized as the school's Top Student in Entrepreneurship.
In addition, she was honored with the 1999-2000 Robert & Helen Gottschalk Scholarship for entrepreneurship.
She earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Stanford University in 1993 after beginning her college career through the University of Washington Early Entrance Program at the Robinson Center for Young Scholars.
She is married with three children and enjoys travel, cooking and the outdoors.
