BOSTON (AP) _ Haemonetics Corp. (HAE) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $17.6 million.

The Boston-based company said it had net income of 34 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and restructuring costs, were 69 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 73 cents per share.

The provider blood management systems for health care providers and blood collectors posted revenue of $238.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $76.5 million, or $1.48 per share. Revenue was reported as $988.5 million.

Haemonetics shares have declined 4% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 21% in the last 12 months.
