Rare Earth Metals Announces Grant of Stock Options

Thunder Bay, ON - January 18, 2012 - Rare Earth Metals Inc ("Rare Earth Metals", "RA" or the "Company") (TSX-V: RA; OTCQX: RAREF, PINK SHEETS: RAREF)  announces that, subject to regulatory approval, it has granted 2,825,000 stock options to directors, officers, employees and consultants of the Company.  These options will be exercisable at $0.17 for a period of five (5) years from the date of granting.
