The stores, both expected to open in the fall of 2013, will be the company's second and third locations in the Sacramento market. The company launched its West Coast expansion in the Sacramento area in October 2012, with the opening of its store in the Rocky Ridge Town Center at 2030 Douglas Boulevard in Roseville.
"We have enjoyed a warm welcome in Roseville, where we opened our first California store this past fall," said Randy Kelley, senior vice president of real estate and development for The Fresh Market. "We are excited about our continued expansion in California, and in the greater Sacramento area in particular, and we look forward to providing customers in the Fair Oaks and Elk Grove communities with the same quality products and excellent customer service that our shoppers experience in other markets."
The Fresh Market has built its reputation on being an extraordinary food destination with stores that offer a truly unique shopping experience. "From bountiful produce and a full-service meat counter to convenient prepared foods and an in-store bakery," said Craig Carlock, the company's president and CEO, "customers will discover that our stores are committed to variety, freshness and value as well as superior customer service."
The company has plans for continued expansion across the U.S., including several California sites currently in development in Palo Alto, Santa Barbara and Laguna Hills.
