Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, a business unit of the Finnish engineering giant Wärtsilä specializing in gas-related systems, has secured an order for Cargo Handling and Fuel Gas Supply systems for two medium-sized ammonia-powered tankers with a capacity of approximately 51,000 cubic meters. This was announced in a press release.
The vessels are being built in China for a joint venture between Navigator Gas and Amon Maritime, and the order was booked by Wärtsilä in the first quarter.
The systems enable operation using ammonia in both two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.
