(Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Friday, hovering near record-high levels after a surge in commodity prices lifted the energy and materials sectors.

At 9:32 a.m. ET (13:32 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 51.39 points, or 0.23%, at 22,351.22.
