(Alliance News) - Bologna's Guglielmo Marconi Airport reported Monday that there were 980,834 passengers in April, up 12 percent year-on-year.

In detail, driving the growth were passengers on domestic flights, which totaled 243,992, up 18 percent over the same month in 2023, but passengers on international flights also performed well, up 11 percent to 736,842. Movements are also growing, at 7,094 and up 12 percent, and air cargo, at 3,634 tons, up 18 percent annually.

The most popular destinations for Marconi passengers in April were Catania, Tirana, Barcelona, Palermo, Madrid, Brindisi, Paris De Gaulle, Istanbul, Cagliari and Bucharest.

In the first four months of 2024, total passengers were 2.9 million, up 9.5 percent over the same period in 2023, while movements totaled 21,913, up 7.6 percent over 2023.

Air cargo transported in January-April was 14,503 tons, up 5.5 percent over 2023.

Bologna's Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi stock closed Monday up 3.3 percent at EUR8.06 per share.
