Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced an order for 21 Airbus A350-900s and 11 A321neo aircraft as part of its fleet renewal plan. The company has also ordered 10 Boeing 787-9s.

On international routes, JAL has scheduled a further 20 Airbus A350-900s. In addition, JAL plans to add 10 Boeing 787-9s to its existing fleet of over 50 Boeing 787s.

These new aircraft are intended to improve and expand the capacity of JAL's international operations, focusing on regions such as North America, Asia and India.

By 2030, JAL aims to expand and develop its international network, increasing capacity by around 1.4 times.

The introduction of both aircraft types is planned over a period of around six years, starting in fiscal 2027.
