Alligator Energy Limited announced that drilling has now commenced at the Samphire Uranium project, south of Whyalla, South Australia. Key points on the drilling program include: Drilling of up to 14 holes using sonic core methods to extract a core of sediments in the uranium bearing zones at the Blackbush deposit. Hole locations designed to add high quality geochemical data within the Blackbush higher grade zone this is needed both for the targeted increased confidence level of the JORC compliant resource (resource) being sought by Alligator, and to tie in the historical probe logged resource data. While drill rig and drillers arrived on site on 11 November (after some delay from a previous program and necessary cross border Covid access requirements), the unseasonal rain through the north has impacted the ability to get onto the pastoral lease until now. All infrastructure and AGE geological team for the drilling is in place. As sonic core is extracted, it will be photographed, vacuum sealed and chilled to maintain core integrity and entrained groundwater. Samples will be sent to a qualified laboratory for analysis - however due to a high workload at all Australian assay labs, results of the geochemical analysis are not anticipated for 6 to 8 weeks. Cores from selected holes will also be sent to ANSTO who will undertake updated uranium leach and IX extraction testwork to feed into the resource modelling and compilation of a Scoping Study, to be undertaken during the first half next year. Following the sonic core drilling, up to 40 rotary mud holes will be drilled with uranium results obtained by PFN and gamma probe - holes will be designed and located for both resource confidence and potential extensional work.
