Amtex Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported sales of PKR 239,192,155 against PKR 375,438,628 a year ago. Loss for the period before taxation was PKR 169,264,251 against PKR 109,025,132 a year ago. Net loss for the period of PKR 172,245,691 or PKR 0.66 per basic and diluted share compared to PKR 112,918,974 or PKR 0.44 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported sales of PKR 540,099,479 against PKR 901,164,797 a year ago. Loss for the period before taxation was PKR 258,286,421 against PKR 224,559,395 a year ago. Net loss for the period of PKR 264,646,792 or PKR 1.02 per basic and diluted share compared to PKR 233,696,831 or PKR 0.90 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
Amtex Limited is a Pakistan-based textile manufacturing company. The principal business of the Company is exporting all kinds of value-added fabrics, textile made-ups, casual and fashion garments duly processed. The Company is also engaged in the business of manufacturing and sale of yarn and fabrics on its own and conversion basis. The cloth processing unit and stitching units are located at Punj Pullian Daewoo Road, District Faisalabad and the spinning unit is located at 30 kilometers Sheikhupura Road, Khurrianwala, District Faisalabad, in the province of Punjab. The Company offers products in categories, such as fabrics, home textiles and garments. It produces fabric from 1,016 millimeters (mm) to 3,200 mm width in poly/cotton, viscose, poly / acrylic, poly / acetate, polypropylene (all blend ratios) with plain and different weaves like twills, drills, satins, dobies, jacquards. Its garment category product line includes lightweight garments, lounge wear, sleep wear and scrub sets.
