Apple is going to explain its plans regarding AI later this year, presumably at its developer conference in June. In early February, Cook already announced that the company is putting "enormous amounts of time and effort" into new AI applications.

Cook made the commitment during a meeting of shareholders. The same shareholders who apparently caused Apple to halt development of its electric car and transfer employees from that project to the AI department.

Apple has a backlog of generative AI applications, but Cook sees "incredible breakthrough potential for generative AI.

Any Mac powered by Apple silicon is an extraordinarily capable AI machine. In fact, there is no better computer for AI on the market today, Cook said.

Possibly a lot of AI technology has already been developed in the 10 years Apple has been working on its car.

According to Bloomberg, Apple executives pulled the plug on the project last week. A month ago, Bloomberg reported that Apple had changed its plans.
